There are scenarios in Marketing Cloud where you need to prepare data in Data Extension first and then kick the journeys using that Data Extension. Below are the steps which will help you to do this without writing amp script. 1. First we need to create Automation in Automation Studio. In Automation studio , we can process the data via Sync DEs or other ampscript functions. Once we are done with the logic , we need to either put the Filter Activity or SQL Query in the end of automation. Point to be focus here is  the Target Data Extension in SQL Query is required for second step in Journeys.  2. We need to create Journeys where entry source will be Data Extension which is the target DE in first step.  Once you select the entry source as DE , click on Done.
